First, let’s see how easy the Qubo Smart Lock SELECT makes to get into our homes. There are 5 entry options that the Smart Lock provides -
Fingerprint - this is the most convenient for everyday use to provide permanent access for your immediate family like spouse, parents, and kids. You can easily configure the fingerprint to be recorded using the app. This particular model supports storage of upto 50 fingerprints.
Passcode: This option is useful if you want to give timed or recurring access - for example when you have to let your maid in at a particular time on a daily basis. You can configure the time for entry and number of times they can access the home in the Qubo App. In addition, you can generate a one time use passcode via OTP and share it with guests / visitors. You can set this up remotely and it’s valid for 24 hours.
Mobile phone: If you are not a fan of remembering passcodes, you can unlock the door using your phone via the Qubo app. Your phone will need to be in proximity of the lock to unlock.
Access card: An access card is ideal for someone who struggles to remember the passcode. The Qubo Smart Door Lock Select comes with 3 access cards.
Mechanical key: This is really a backup option for opening the door. Just rotate the panel below the handle to get access to the keyhole. You will get 2 mechanical keys with your lock.
Let’s discuss the security aspects
The product looks absolutely tamper proof. It comes with 5 stainless steel bolts, one of which is a deadbolt meant to lock from the inside of your home like any normal lock.
You can also set up a two layer authentication system - which means you can create a setup that requires a combination of 2 access methods to unlock your door. For example - a fingerprint + passcode entry.
You can also use a passcode with decoy digits to keep your code spy safe. The lock also gives a voice alert if somebody uses a wrong password 5 times.
In addition, it has a child lock feature that prevents your kid from unlocking the door from inside.
It has a voice guidance when the Smart Lock is unlocked - which can be turned off in the app.
The Qubo Smart Lock requires 8 AA batteries for operation. When the battery runs low, there is an indication in the app to let you know when to change the batteries. And in case the battery dies out, you can easily jumpstart the battery. Just use the micro USB port available in the lock and a powerbank. Or of course you could use the mechanical key if you have it handy.
Let’s talk about prerequisites for installation.
The Qubo Smart Lock is really well designed and adds a sophisticated look to your door. It has a premium mirror glossy finish on the front with black matte finish on the sides and is a sleek and elegant solution for your home security and convenience needs. It requires the door thickness to be a minimum of 35mm. Most modern Indian doors are of atleast 35mm thickness, hence compatibility is not an issue. The Smart Lock comes with reversible handles that can be customised for both left and right handed doors. It only works for wooden doors - not for metal doors. The Qubo Smart Lock SELECT works for single doors. If you need an option for double doors, you can consider the Qubo Rim lock.
Qubo also provides a free home installation in 40+ cities in India. You can call their customer service to check if they offer installation in your area. Installation is fairly easy and seamless and is done by trained authorised carpenters from the brand.

To start with, set up or configure types and users for permanent access
Create and share one time access permissions for guests / house help. You can share the passcode via whatsApp, or SMSfor your guests.

Check battery status and get an app indication if batteries need replacement
