MI robot vacuum mop P is the model I’ve been recommending for a while now. Yes there are other equivalent models in the market - but I believe this gives the best value for money. If you want to see a comparison of this with Viomi SE and Realme that I did a few months ago - check the video linked in the description.

So in this video I want to talk about the intelligent app features in this robot that have made me go wow. The sweeping is definitely outstanding - much better than the earlier robot vacuum I was using. Towards the end - I’ll talk about what I don’t like as well.
PROS OF MI ROBOT VACUUM MOP P
First thing I liked is how accurate the Map is. In the first run - I ran it with an edge cleaning mode - that helps it to quickly create the map of your house. It is able to differentiate one room from the other fairly easily. And it will automatically divide the space into multiple zones. Now these zones may or may not be to your liking. For example - in my house, it has broken down a corridor into 2 different zones. Ideally I’d like them to be a single zone.
Next - if you don’t like the zones it has created, you can easily merge zones into a single zone OR break up a zone into multiple zones. In this app, the zones are actually called rooms. Like I said earlier, I don’t like that it broke up the corridor into two zones. So now I’ll combine the two zones it’s created in my corridor into a single zone. I’ll also break up the living and dining area into two separate zones as otherwise it is quite big. I can clean them independently. You can also rename the zones as you like.
Next is the ability to clean each area separately. Either a specific zone / room OR let’s say you have dropped something in a particular area - you can only clean that area. So to show you a demo, I can select the cleaning of a single room - let’s say the kitchen. I can only select that room and start the cleaning. Once cleaning is done, it will come back to the dock. Or if I have spills in certain areas, I can select only a part of the kitchen to be cleaned.
Next I like the ability to schedule different areas at different times of day. For example - I like to clean the kitchen and living/dining before I wake up. Since the kitchen and living/dining are far away from the bedrooms, I cannot hear the robot vacuum and it won’t disturb me. And once I wake up, I schedule the rooms before we start work. For this schedule, you can select the suction mode also. So for the kitchen which typically gets more dirty in our house, if you want a higher suction, you can schedule that too.
The next is the ability to select no-go areas. There may be some areas you don’t want it to go. For example - while it does detect bathroom doors, if the door is open, it could go inside. So these areas can be set as no-go areas so you don’t have to run each time to close the doors if they are open. Other areas could be furniture that the robot thinks it can go under (and can go under) but it does get a bit stuck. For example, that happens under my shoe rack - which is just about 4 inches. There are two ways to go about this - setting a virtual wall - which will just block the robot from going beyond a particular area or a restricted area which only blocks a particular area but can go around it.
The next is the ability to recharge and resume - if battery goes low - less than 10% I believe, it automatically goes back to the dock and recharges and starts back from where it had stopped. On the map, it will show you areas cleaned and not cleaned in this particular run. So far, I had this only in my first run when it was creating a map of the house. After that, since I run it in parts, it rarely runs out of battery.
There are lots of additional options that you can select once and forget about it. Two main ones are:
Selecting a suction power amongst (silent, standard, medium, turbo). I’ve found standard works really well on a regular basis and that’s what I use. Remember - Higher the suction power, lower the run time.
Selecting mopping mode (S - low battery consumption and lesser time vs Y - higher battery and higher cleaning time). I will maybe make a separate video on mopping altogether - let me know if you are interested.
CONS ABOUT THE MI ROBOT VACUUM MOP P
What I don’t like about the MI Robot Vacuum Mop P intelligent features:
It happened to me once during the time I have this product that the robot suddenly becomes disoriented and does not know where it is. It keeps trying to look for the dock and starts remapping again! I thought the robot had lost it. So what I did at the time is brought it back near the dock and placed it there so it could find the dock easily. Luckily, the map is not lost - once it goes back to the dock, it shows the precreated map again.
The voice alerts are so loud - thankfully you can adjust the volume or turn it off altogether in the app.
A question I got was - why did I select this over the REALME robot vacuum although it has better specs? Main reason is spare parts availability.
Hope this was useful, thank you for watching, see you in the next video.
